What people are saying
Kate and Jol were absolutely wonderful! Their performance was well-planned, engaging and lots of fun. They work really well together and their storytelling was delightful. We had some difficulty with our sound equipment towards the end but they were unfazed and adapted brilliantly. Their stories and performance were great for the age group and their use of props and images worked perfectly in maintaining audience engagement throughout. Highly recommend them.
We’ve had our Author Visit with Catherine Bateson during Book Week and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Great communication and a genuine willingness to answer questions.
We were treated to a visit from the much loved, award winning author Pip Harry! Pip's energy, warmth and love of literature was contagious. Pip made contact in the weeks prior to her visit to learn more about our students and their needs which resulted in her delivering four tailor made presentations for each cohort. Our students were engaged but they also felt heard as Pip spent every spare moment answering questions and warmly conversing with our students. It was a visit we will never forget! [...]
Astred Hicks has recently delivered a guest lecture to a group of students in the Master of Publishing program, for the second year in the row. Her expertise, passion, and ability to engage and inspire the students were truly remarkable. Her love for books and design was contagious, which created a positive and inspiring atmosphere in the classroom. Astred encouraged students to embrace creativity, think outside the box, and push the boundaries of traditional book cover design and illustration. [...]
David Hallett challenged many of our students' personal views of poetry and politics. His performances allowed students to appreciate the malleability of poetry, highlighting the fact it is far more than words on a page.
Candice entertained our P-3's with her stories. The students loved the puppets and getting to be part of the show. Candice's interacted wonderfully with our students and catered for all of the levels in the different classes.
“We thoroughly enjoyed the workshop! Tiff’s use of props and visuals to connect with the themes in her beautiful book was very engaging and stimulating for our students. The students and I loved learning about Wonder Earth with Tiff”
James was a huge hit with our students and his sessions sold out - up to 800 students in our biggest venue. He had the kids enthralled and was such a pleasure to work with too. He is very easy going and positive.
Brian was outstanding. He is very knowledgeable, funny and entertaining. Students loved their experience and produced some great work.
Jonathan was wonderful! The student's were extremely engaged with his presentation and immensely enjoyed listening to him.
Tony's personal connection to the specific audience is an absolute talent. By listening to the specific questions asked by different year levels the groups each had a very different and unique presentation. His ability to draw and make connections to his works is pure talent.
Lucia was so warm and friendly. She was extremely organised and had an engaging digital presentation for the students. Her demeanor with the students was exceptional and they responded so well to her. Definitely would recommend!
