Zewlan Moor is an author, GP and bibliotherapist. Her books are sometimes multi-layered, with a quirky sense of humour and light touch that belies their serious intent. Other times they're just fun. In her reading and writing, Zewlan is preoccupied with themes of identity, language, power and social justice. Which sounds very dry, but isn't. Especially when wrapped in a picture book/cozy mystery/dark academia/romcom package. |

Dave Lowe has two new books in the pipeline. Rocket, just released in Australia to coincide with the Women's World Cup, is the story of 12-year-old Maddie, who dreams of playing for The Matildas. When her dad gets a job in Central-West Queensland, she misses Brisbane: her home, her friends and, most of all, her football team. Here, there are only four teams in the entire district, and just one other female player. Plus, the team that joins has never won a game. But her teammates help Maddie adjust to her new life - so can she inspire them to their first ever win? 'Full of heart, laughs and football. I loved it.' Nova Weetman Dave has also co-written a new series for younger readers: Pixies vs Fairies - the first book has just been released in the UK, and is coming out in Australia (with Hachette) in October. |
